Caroline McCarthy

Caroline joined Wain & Naysmith Ltd in April 2021 having previously worked in law firms in Wellington, Marlborough and the Cook Islands. She has appeared in the Family, District and High Courts in New Zealand and the High Court in Rarotonga.. She is an experienced legal practitioner with extensive knowledge and able to provide effective and practical solutions on a wide range of legal matters. As part of our family law team she has a particular interest in relationship property and estate planning including Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney and estate work.

She frequently undertakes the Court appointed roles of Lawyer for Child and Lawyer for Subject Person representing our most vulnerable people. She also enjoys helping people to navigate adoption and surrogacy law. 

Caroline is passionate about the outdoors and loves to spend time biking and tramping around beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand either on her own or with friends and family.
